Quilting Clubs

Mill House Quilts has monthly clubs which meet to share a common interest. All the clubs are free and may be joined at any time. Several require a book purchase.

6" & 12" Block of the Month Club

1st Tuesday of each month | 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

The books 200 Blocks from Quiltmaker Magazine and The Loyal Union Sampler by Jennifer Chiaverini are the sources for each month’s blocks in 2015. You may choose which book, and which size blocks, you want to make. Those who bring in completed blocks from the last month’s demonstration have a chance to win free fat quarters. BERNINA CLUB & WORKGROUP - STARTS OCTOBER 4

Do you own a Bernina Sewing or Quilting Machine, whether a classic NOVA 900 or the unmatched B880, then join us for this exciting new club/workgroup. Ever wonder what the best practice is for oiling and maintaining your machine, what software is available and what do users use, what feet are available, how to save your work, who uses embroidery? Block of the Month Club

200 Blocks from Quiltmaker Magazine is the book chosen for 2015. Each month a block will be presented and discussed. The blocks vary in degree of difficulty. Everyone will select their own fabrics and choose which blocks to make. Several different settings are in the book, or you may design your own. New members always welcome. Book required. EQ (Electric Quilt) Club

Do you have EQ6 or 7 and want to explore its uses with other quilters? Tips and ideas for exploring and using Electric Quilt will be discussed. Bring a laptop if you can and any questions or ideas you have. All skill levels and new members are welcome. January, April, July, and October meetings will include basic EQ instruction. Strip Club

Mill House Class

2nd Thursday of each month | 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Join the fun at the only Strip Club in Waunakee! Each month we exchange twelve 2 ½” strips in a certain color or theme, and we are challenged with blocks in which to use them. Fabrics for September are shirtings, October is stripes, November is red, and December is '30s fabrics. The twelve 2 ½” strips should be 100% cotton and cut the width of the fabric. They can be all the same or different fabrics. Each month has a block designed by Jane that uses some of your strips. New members always welcome. Hosted by Jane Vaughan. FREE!

Log Cabin Club (formerly known as Civil War Club)

UFO Quilt Club

UFO Club is for anyone who can claim to have three or more UnFinishedObjects (quilts) needing more than the binding. Register your UFO’s by bringing them to any meeting. Each time you complete a UFO, you may enter your name to win a $25.00 Mill House gift certificate. Drawing occurs twice a year at the June and December party meetings. New members always welcome. Paper Piecing Club

3rd Thursday of each month | 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Kathy will guide you through using paper piecing to create the beautiful blocks in Jennifer Chiaverini’s The Loyal Union Sampler Quilt. You may choose any style of fabrics you wish. Candy Club

4th Thursday of each month | 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Candy Club meets the fourth Thursday of the month from 6:30-7:30. Candy pieces are 2 ½” squares. Each month you may choose to participate in a candy exchange by bringing twenty 2-½”squares. September's theme is Asian, October is Northwoods, November is trees, and December is Chrismas. Moda Candy booklet required. Hosted by Irene Stoll.
