Happy 2016

We’re really excited to enter into a New Year here at Mill House Quilts. One of the most fun things about the New Year is fresh starts and with that many of the clubs at Mill House Quilts will also be starting new books and projects.

Let’s start with looking at which clubs you can join in on the first week of the month:

1st Tuesday • 9:30-11:00 • FREE

The books, 200 Blocks from Quilt Maker Magazine and The Loyal Union Sampler by Jennifer Chiaverini, are the sources for each month’s blocks in 2016.

You may choose which book, and which size blocks you want to make. Those who bring in completed blocks from the last month’s demonstration have a chance to win free fat quarters. This is a great way to make new friends and use up scraps! New members are always welcome! Book required. Hosted by Lisa Pertzborn

1st Thursday • 9:30-10:45 • FREE

New York Beauty Diversified by Linda Hahn and New York Beauty by Karen Kay Stone are the books chosen for 2016.

Each month several blocks will be presented and discussed. The blocks vary in degree of difficulty. Everyone will select their own fabrics and choose which blocks to make. Several different settings are in the book, or you may design your own. New members always welcome. Book required. Hosted by Mary Joy Johnson

1st Thursday • 11:15-12:15 • FREE

Do you have EQ6 or 7 and want to explore its uses with other quilters? Tips and ideas for exploring and using Electric Quilt will be discussed. Bring a laptop if you can and any questions or ideas you have. All skill levels and new members are welcome. January, April, July, and October meeting will include basic EQ instruction. You will need to bring a laptop, have EQ7 activated, and have minimal experience. Hosted by Fran Heisey.

1st Friday • 11:00-12:00 • FREE

Machine quilting club is your source for sharing information on all aspects of home machine quilting. Bring any tips or problems you have encountered. Cindy will provide a monthly quilting design. Hosted by Cindy Fenster.

If you can possible to get to any of these clubs I can’t recommend it enough! The camaraderie and ideas found at these ideas are priceless.

***Books required for the clubs can be purchased at Mill House Quilts.
